In case you do not know the right charge, you can file your application free of charge and we will get in touch with you to make the necessary payments - please note that this will cause a time lag in your application process until we receive it. Your registration fees can be paid by check, credit or debit cards or in the form of an application form.

Checks are to be paid to "London Borough of Lambeth" and sent to Building Control, London Borough of Lambeth, P.O. Box 734, Winchester, SO23 5DG. On the back of the check, please include the application feature and, if available, the application number. It will help us to handle your payments quickly and effectively.

Payment can be made by credit or debit cards by telephone. We will usually notify you of any pending payment once we have your application and your application has been recorded, but if this has not been done and you have an application number, you can call us on 020 7926 1278 or 0207926 1280 with your credit and debit cards number.

For construction work for special handicapped people, such as e.g. entrance to ramps or handicapped toilets, there are no charges.

In most cases, a design application charge is levied when an application is submitted. It is possible to compute the application charge for your own plans by using the online charge calculation of the portal. You can use our Fees calculator as a stand-alone application but it is also a part of the online application procedure.

There is also a guidebook on the charges for applying for planning in England to be downloaded. If your application is not approved by the regional planner or if you file a current application and then cancel it at any point prior to approval, the application charge will not be refunded.

If the municipality does not find your application, you can lodge a complaint. If an earlier application has been approved, rejected or revoked, another application by the same person for the same kind of site on the same site may normally be submitted free of cost within 12 month.

As of 10 September 2018, the portal will be processing all online requests for planing. That means that you can make your online application using a standardized suite of methods of payment described below. A £16.67+ VAT handling rate will be levied on all design proposals received via our online application system from this date onwards, except for those proposals for which no building application rate will be levied.
